We have already tested the first generation of AirDots and brand headphones Redmi. Now we have received the best, most expensive wireless headphones Xiaomi has in its offer, viz Xiaomi AirDots Pro 2. Give us a week for the review, for now, I invite you to unpack new headphones.
Xiaomi AirDots Pro 2 will be compared with the previous model, i.e. AirDots and the largest competitor, Apple AirPods. In terms of product packaging, in my opinion, Xiaomi is definitely losing to the Cupertino company.
The headphones are attached to a paper box with a transparent tape, a budget solution. If the product is to aspire to the premium class then Xiaomi could have tried more. AirDots Pro 2 should be in the case, we take out the case in which the headphones are located. Unfortunately, Xiaomi has not yet copied the packaging style and magic of pairing from Apple.
Together with the headphones we receive a case and a charging cable, USB A to USB type C. The case has a diode indicating the status of the charge and the status of the bluetooth connection. On the side wall of the case there is a button to activate pairing.
The design of the headphones is very similar to the first generation AirPods, but the Lei Jun product was created from inferior quality materials, second grade plastic. You can feel it when you pick up the case or the headphones themselves.
What about audio? Can Xiaomi AirDots Pro 2 manage?
My first observations are positive, they play very clean. The only thing I can stick to is low tones, would like to have more bass.
These are just my first impressions, "hot". Headphones will test @mac. Come back in a week and you'll find out if the Xiaomi product can be a cheaper replacement for AirPods.
